MARCO PARISOTTO

Marco Parisotto, geboren in der kanadischen Metropole Montreal, ist ständiger Gast bei etlichen Orchestern auf nahezu allen Kontinenten. Er zählt inzwischen zu den führenden und bemerkenswertesten international tätigen Dirigenten seines Heimatlandes.

Parisotto hat mit zahlreichen Spitzenorchestern gearbeitet wie etwa dem Montreal Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia of London, New Jersey Symphony, Toronto Symphony, Calgary Philharmonic, Edmonton Symphony, Vancouver Symphony, National Arts Center Orchestra in Ottawa, Quebec Symphony, Louisiana Philharmonic, Osaka Philharmonic, Tokyo Symphony, Japan Shinsei Symphony, Opera Giuseppe Verdi di Trieste, Orchestre National de France, Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, Opéra de Bordeaux, Opéra de Marseille, Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg, Philharmonique de Liège und dem Orchestre Lamoureux.

Begeistern konnte er auch auf den Festivals von Evian, Menton, Besançon sowie dem Skaneateles Festival in New York, an den Operhäusern von Montreal und Shanghai, in Mexiko mit dem Philharmonischen Orchester von Mexico City, dem Orquesta Filarmonica de la UNAM, Sinfonica Carlos Chavez, Camara de Bellas Artes, dem Shanghai Symphony Orchestra und dem China National Symphony.

Mit großem Erfolg leitete er auch das Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, die Philharmonie Monte Carlo, das Nationalorchester der RAI in Turin, das Orquesta de Cordoba, Orquesta de Baja California, Orchestre de Bayonne Cote-Basque und auch das Orchester am serbischen Nationaltheater. Im Jahr 2011 dirigierte er anlässlich des 130. Jahrestages des ältesten und renommiertesten Orchesters in Paris, dem Orchestre des Concerts Lamoureux, das offizielle Jubiläumskonzert im Théâtre des Champs Élysées.

Marco Parisotto war 1. Preisträger bei sieben internationalen Wettbewerben, Ein Höhepunkt war, als er 1997 die Goldmedaille der ‘Besançon International Competition for Conductors’ gewann wie schon zuvor Musikerpersönlichkeiten wie Seiji Ozawa, Michel Plasson oder Zdenek Macal. Erstmals in der Geschichte dieses Elitewettbewerbes wurde er zusätzlich mit dem ‘Grand Prix’ sowie dem ‘Prix du Public’ ausgezeichnet. Weitere Spitzenpreise erhielt er bei der Tokyo International Conductors Competition in Japan, der Constantin Silvestri Competition in Rumänien und beim Antonio Pedrotti Wettbewerb in Italien.

Parisotto wird insbesondere auch für seine Interpretationen der russischen Spitzenkomponisten wie Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich und Stravinsky sowie der deutschen Romantik, hier insbesondere Strauss, Bruckner, Mahler und Wagner geschätzt. Auch das italienische Opernrepertoire zählt zu seinen Favoriten. Im Jahr 2002 dirigierte er die Erstaufführungen von Strauss’ ‘Ein Heldenleben’ und Rachmaninovs Sinfonische Tänze in Shanghai. Unter seinen jüngsten Opernproduktionen sind Pagliacci, Cavalleria Rusticana, Otello, Tosca, La Boheme, Aida, Rigoletto und Don Giovanni.

Marco Parisotto ist seit 1996 Generalmusikdirektor des Ontario Philharmonic Orchestra, welches er während dieser Zeit zu einem der kanadischen Spitzenensembles entwickeln konnte. Nach einem Konzert anlässlich der Feierlichkeiten der kanadisch-chinesischen Beziehungen im Jahr 1999 am Großen Theater in Shanghai wurde er zum Chefdirigenten und künstlerischem Leiter des Shanghai Symphony Orchestra berufen, eine Position, die er bis 2003 innehatte. Bis dahin gab es keinen Ausländer, der für eine vergleichbare Tätigkeit in der Volksrepublik China verpflichtet wurde.

Er studierte zunächst Violine und Klavier und dann Dirigieren bei Leonard Bernstein, Carlo Maria Giulini, Leonard Slatkin, Charles Brück, Yuri Temirkanov, Georg Tintner und zu Beginn bei Raffi Armenian am Conservatoire de Musique du Québec in Montreal. Desweiteren erhielt er weitere Anregungen von dem Schweizer Dirigenten und Komponisten Michel Tabachnik, als dessen Assistent er dann anschließend tätig war.
